The GrandMA is not your grandma, nor is it your grandma’s lighting console.

This is an industry standard that is used in most big venues and a lot of concerts. Some large concerts with complicated lighting even use two of them! The GrandMA is a masterpiece of technology with an intuitive interface and a built-in fader bank for light intensity, and you pay for it. It costs around $80,000 depending on where you buy it. The GrandMA is a series of lighting consoles that come in all manner of sizes. The largest of which is the GrandMA full size. The newest generation of consoles is the series 3. This generation includes the full-size, light, compact XT, compact, and, accessories.

The GrandMA 3 full size as stated above has a built-in fader bank to control light intensity. This is a very helpful and convenient feature to have. When we demoed this console at Journey Church, we assigned our house lights to one of the faders. After some practice, it made our transitions much smoother, in my opinion. The keyboard built into the armrest has a nice feel and is very convenient to have and use. The GrandMA full-size console comes with eight built-in screens. These all serve a purpose and make patching lights, configuring macros, previewing scenes, and diagnosing problems much easier. It also has the ability to fold these screens down to accommodate transport in a hard case.

The GrandMA has a lot of the same upsides as the Quantum 338, the main one being that it is mainstream so if you have problems with it, they are easy to fix, and it is very easy to train people on. The GrandMA 3 has been the industry standard for years and will continue to be the standard for years to come.
