GLD-80

The GLD-80 is the soundboard that I use when I run tech at my school.

This soundboard was released in 2015 and has 2 fader banks and 4 layers. The left bank has 12 faders, and the right bank has 8 faders, in total that makes 80 strips that can be customized for their function. They each have an LCD screen at the top of the fader that can be customized to your labeling needs. It also has an LCD touchscreen in the top right of the board that allows you to control all manner of things including EQ, Layer assignment, scenes, and much more.

The GLD-80 was a popular board and is one of the best at this price point. Speaking of which, this board costs about $5,000, which in the grand scheme of soundboards is on the lower end. With the size of events that my school hosts, this board is perfect and fulfills all of our needs. This board has been durable and withstood many events. Even with all of its upsides, it is not being updated anymore so soon it will have to be replaced and will fall into history.
